The Top Ten Most Watched Got A Ukulele Review Videos of All Time - at date of writing of course

I'm never a huge fan of top ten lists on websites. They go out of date immediately, and they are usually used by shilling websites to promote Amazon clicks and not much more.. 'Ten Best Sopranos!' 'Ten Best Ukes for Kids!'... You get the idea... Anyway, I was looking at YouTube stats for the Got A Ukulele channel and worked out the ten most watched ukulele review videos i've made.

ukulele reviews top 10

It's a  flawed list of course because it's only relevant TODAY and some of the videos are much older. The order may change tomorrow. But they may prompt some interest for new readers for old things they have not seen before... Indulge me... So..  in reverse order as they used to do on the music charts.....

NUMBER 10 - EPIPHONE LES PAUL (PLUGGED IN)- August 2015

This has been a HUGELY divisive review - this was actually one of two videos that I needed to make to try to calm arguments about whether it was an acoustic or an electric... It's not very good as either.

NUMBER 9 - KALA KA-RES RESONATOR - Nov 2014

Surprises me this one as I don't think about it much, nor did it really move me. Still, it's a bit different I suppose..

NUMBER 8 - FENDER MONTECITO TENOR - Sept 2017

Pretty much the only Fender ukulele I have come close to kind of liking. There had to be a Fender on the list... will there be another?? (nope - the other Fenders narrowly missed out on the top ten..)

NUMBER 7 - MARTIN T1K TENOR - Sept 2012

Still a ukulele I look back on fondly as it's a cracker. I don't look back on the video fondly - this is long before I started trying to do them properly.... Hideous!

NUMBER 6 - CORDOBA 20TM TENOR - Jul 2016

VERY popular brand so no surprise to me people watch it. Not a particularly memorable ukulele for me though.. Still think you can do much better at this price. Well made though.

NUMBER 5 - MAKALA WATERMAN SOPRANO - Jun 2014

Argghhh.. The one I regret. Look.... I got an early release version - perhaps even a prototype.. I dunno. The action was just fine with mine (and still is!) I liked it. What was I supposed to say? (Then I saw just how many were arriving with people with dipping tops and impossible to adjust string heights... Ughh...)

NUMBER 4 - RISA LP TENOR - MAR 2019

Understandable - a GREAT ukulele, really nicely made and massive interest in solid steel strung electrics does not seem to be showing any signs of slowing.

NUMBER 3 - KALA KA-ZCT-T ZIRICOTE TENOR - Aug 2016

Another surprise, though a very striking instrument to look at. These were indeed very popular, and, from memory, pretty decent.

NUMBER 2 - LUNA TATTOO CONCERT - Oct 2015

Groan...

AND... IN AT NUMBER 1...

IT'S THE SOPRANO SHOOTOUT - HONORS GO TO KALA, OHANA and LANIKAI

Sept 2015

I don't find this surprising though it was the first and last time I do a multi uke review (too much work and makes things far too long). But these are all very well known and very similar first ukes. I'd still recommend them (largely)

Good showing from Kala overall really. I might revisit this in a year to see if anything changes it.

Thanks for watching and remember you can see my full list of hundreds more ukulele reviews on the link below.

    1. You mean - everyone buys one thinking it's going to be amazingly cool but is ultimately disappointed and it eventually dies?

  2. I really liked that soprano shootout. I can see why it would justifiably be so popular.
