Above is the reason why I rarely advise strum patterns and think they are unhelpful. Who's says that is right? It really depends on the style and feel you want to give the piece. Strictly speaking down down down down is correct too. Learn the rhythm then apply your own feel and don't be swayed by those saying you MUST play it this way or that

I agree with Barry. Someone asked me how I strummed a particular song and I frankly couldn't tell them. I strummed the way I was feeling the tune as I do with all of my songs.

I'm interested in strumming patterns, just because I'm starting a club. I 'feel' this one as D-DU-UDU, but as soon as I get some input, it could well change.
