It's nearly spring - ukulele book price cut!

Ah well, it's nearly spring, and things are looking up. So why not - have cut the price of my ukulele books on the Amazon Kindle store.

what ukulele players really want to know book cover

You can now get my first three books for the price of a couple of lottery tickets each, and my omnibus ukulele book, The Complete What Ukulele Players Really Want To Know for the price of a pint of beer.

You can grab the books via AMAZON UK and AMAZON.COM at the reduced prices until further notice. And on the left hand side of this blog you will also find direct links to each book on Amazon.

Can't say fairer than that? Enjoy!

Ukulele ebooks - the independent alternative

I don't say enough about Smashwords. When I first wrote my ukulele beginners books, the Amazon Kindle was the obvious first choice, but then you realise that a) not everybody has a Kindle and b) not everybody wants to give Amazon their money. Smashwords provides an independent alternative!

So, if you like the ebook format, you can grab all three of my books via Smashwords in Kindle, ePub, Sony, PDF, you name it, formats!

My new ebook, one week on!

Well it's only been launched for just over a week, but my follow up to the first ukulele handbook, More Of What Ukulele Players Really Want To Know has done rather well!

Within only a couple of days it had made it into the bestseller charts, reaching number 2 in the Amazon UK music reference book chart and top ten stateside. Pretty humbling really!  It will also shortly be launching on iTunes and Barnes and Noble, and the paperback should go live in a few days, so pretty exciting.

I hope you like it!

You can take a look on the links below

A HUGE thank you to anyone who grabbed a copy - it is very much appreciated.

Got A Ukulele blog - on Amazon Kindle

Do you have a Kindle? Want to get the Got A Ukulele blog delivered to your device wirelessly when it updates?  Then take a look at the Kindle store!

The blog is now available on subscription on the Amazon sites. Personally, I think the sub should be free, but Amazon don't allow that. Saying that, I have quite a few subscribers now, so it seems to work - presumably for people on holiday or without regular access to a PC. Besides, there is a free trial option, so you can always give it a go.

For Kindle users on the US site, you can find the blog here GOT A UKULELE FOR KINDLE - US Store

If you are in the UK, you will find it here - GOT A UKULELE FOR KINDLE - UK Store

Keep strumming!

Ukulele ebook published!

I am pleased to announce that my ukulele ebook, titled "What Ukulele Players REALLY want to know" is published in ebook format.

what ukulele players really want to know ebook

I have been toying with this idea for a while now, and for the past few weeks have been collating, expanding and re-writing a host of beginners guides for people to download and read on their ebooks.  It's a book aimed at absolute beginners that tries to break away from the rigid rules of the normal tuition books and answers questions those guides just dont deal with.

The idea is that it becomes a resource that is always available, when the internet is not around.

I have also added a useful glossary section and reference guide.

For those of you with an Amazon Kindle:

if you dont have a Kindle, its available for other e-readers, pdf etc at SMASHWORDS

Reviews appreciated!

Enjoy!

Techy way of taking your ukulele tabs with you

Hi folks, sorry been away for a while so no updates.

In that time though I got myself a new toy - one of these

So... So what.... Why are you posting that here, you may ask.

Well, this little box of tricks is an ereader, for books and magazines, but also has another cool feature.  You can display word documents or pdf files on it.

Hmmmm... what does a ukulele nut think of that - <>  I wonder...

Yes, put your tabs and chords on it!  I tried it, put some songs on we are still working on (and for which I keep forgetting chords or lyrics or both) to take along to our last jam session.  Came in very handy and very clear to read because you can zoom and bump the fonts up.

Coolest of all, the device has its own email address, so you just email the files to it - no wires!

Will try to get some pics of tabs running on it soon.  You do need to take some care to keep formatting and its best to get the tab fitting the dimensions of the Kindle screen then printing to pdf - but it does work really well.  Also has plenty of storage space on it, so I could probably put all my tabs on it (hundreds) easily!
