First banjo uke for me and great fun. Thanks for pointing out how heavy it is and suggesting that a strap might be required for some players. Eagle Music supplied it with a lovely purple mandolin/ukulele strap, and yes, I need it because of the weight. On the flipside, I have small hands so the nut width isn't an issue. Now it's time to learn those fancy Formby strums... And I ride a big fat cruiser bike.

One of my criteria was 'loud' because years ago I'd tried busking in Santa Cruz and had actually taught myself a basic George Formby stroke, and no one could hear me!

I think the $150-odd on this was money well spent, for a beginner like me. Thanks for your work. alex carterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12458022111793552536noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4724767841739249964.post-1822487732498529542018-10-30T15:16:34.772+00:002018-10-30T15:16:34.772+00:00I suspect that if an owner finds the banjo uke a b...I suspect that if an owner finds the banjo uke a bit too loud, they can change out the head to one of the more quiet ones, such as a fiberskin (spelling?) I did that on a really great uke I got from Canada.Ralphhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13653392171695088660noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4724767841739249964.post-90159601751093670052018-09-27T23:53:57.117+01:002018-09-27T23:53:57.117+01:00A fair and good point my friend!A fair and good point my friend!Barry Mazhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15731777711884288947noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4724767841739249964.post-31240100454947156262018-09-27T22:42:10.988+01:002018-09-27T22:42:10.988+01:00Hello Barry. For me a reason not to buy one. greetings from Doctor Dick (still busking)doctor dickhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06609296701968584875noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4724767841739249964.post-39674472378770179562018-09-23T17:38:02.769+01:002018-09-23T17:38:02.769+01:00It’s a chunky profile for sure, but too narrow for...It’s a chunky profile for sure, but too narrow for me on the nut. Love the sound....even if its a little loud. The color makes it a great draw and conversation piece. I also own a Deering Good Tyme Banjolele and play each at different times. My Little Gem is just fun and easier to travel with.
