I was completely new to the ukulele and didn't want to invest much in an instrument I might not be good at playing, but at the same time, I didn't want a toy either. Since I needed a tuner and wanted a strap and gig bag anyway, coupled w/ the lifetime warranty, and Amazon's excellent return policy, I decided it was worth the risk for my own situation. It arrived, tuned up easily enough, and I was off to the races. the fretboard had a small cosmetic blemish, so I reached out to Lohanu's customer service to see about trading it in, and they just told me to keep it and they'd send me a new complete kit. So I ended up with 2 ukes for the price of one and I've got to say I'm pretty happy with both. The second one has no flaws, and stays at school (I teach K-8 music/choir) and the original lives at home. I am currently in the market for a Tenor because I enjoy a fuller, richer tone, but these little concert ukes serve their purpose and provided many happy hours of strumming during out stay at home orders this year.

I'd say your review is spot on w/ my own experience with this uke. It's not amazing but it's not terrible and makes a good starter instrument if the budget is tight.AmySingsDoReMinoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4724767841739249964.post-76275360923800857672020-05-28T00:52:00.722+01:002020-05-28T00:52:00.722+01:00Baz, I wouldn't mind this uke as just another ...Baz, I wouldn't mind this uke as just another low entry uke, but they're right on the verge of telling lies!
An arched back isn't exclusive, is it? Saying it's mahogany, when it clearly isn't, is lying.
And failing to note that it's a laminate body, well, that's pretty common, but it's a lie of omission.
And Amazon only, that's just a deal breaker, and it should be, for any musical instrument. It's not that hard to find a good deal from a good dealer!
Good review!Ukulelegeekhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14682685228439447153noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4724767841739249964.post-69989649590674000202020-05-25T14:15:00.532+01:002020-05-25T14:15:00.532+01:00Thanks for the review of a "Canadian" br...Thanks for the review of a "Canadian" brand. Interstingly, I can't find these on amazon.ca. Two Canadian brands that aren't on amazon are Twisted Wood and Honolua (both built off-shore). We carry them in our shop. Nicely put together including the entry point models at around $79CDN for a mahogany laminate soprano. Ranging up to solid/laminate acacia combo from one manufacturer and solid/solid koa from the other. I'm definitely happier with one brand over the other but these aren't big K ukes and they fill a place in the market.
